Community service is one of the most meaningful ways to show compassion and support to people in need. Recently, the Diaconia team carried out a small community outreach in Abuja aimed at supporting vulnerable members of society and spreading kindness within our community.
The outreach was carried out by a team of four individuals who shared the common goal of making a positive impact. Our first stop was the maternity ward of a general hospital located in Kubwa, Abuja. At the hospital, we met with new mothers and women who had recently given birth.
Understanding the challenges many families face after childbirth, we distributed essential items such as tissues, soap, and detergent to over thirty women in the maternity ward. These items were provided to support their hygiene needs and to offer encouragement during an important moment in their lives.
The mothers expressed heartfelt gratitude, and the interaction created a warm and uplifting atmosphere for everyone present. It was a powerful reminder of how small acts of kindness can bring comfort and hope to people during significant life moments.
This outreach was made possible through the support of Diaconia, and we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve as mediators to assist others in need.
