Diaconia Global Services has announced a new partnership with the Philadelphia Police Department’s 12th District to expand community outreach and humanitarian support in Southwest Philadelphia. The collaboration aims to enhance local food security, safety, and wellness through coordinated public service initiatives.
The partnership represents a shared commitment to empowering residents and addressing socio-economic challenges that impact families across the district. Together, Diaconia and the 12th District will host outreach events, distributing food, clothing, essential household supplies, and connecting residents to social assistance resources.
"Building community trust through service is at the heart of what we do" - said Amanda, Director at Diaconia Global Services. "We believe that working side-by-side with local officers creates stronger, more compassionate communities that look out for one another.”
The Community Relations Officer at the Philadelphia Police Department’s 12th District expressed similar enthusiasm for the collaboration. Officer Mitchell, Community Relations Officer, emphasized that “this initiative reflects our ongoing efforts to build positive relationships with residents while addressing real needs in the neighborhoods we serve.”
In addition to clothing drives, the partnership will include educational workshops on public safety, health and wellness, workforce development, and youth mentoring. Diaconia will also integrate its global humanitarian experience to pilot new urban outreach models that link local response to broader sustainability goals.
This partnership underscores both organizations’ commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger and Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, aligning local action with global priorities for equity and resilience.
